The Bruins are shopping Marc Savard, but trade talks are being held up by the NHL's investigation into Savard's contract.
"Was just told that Bruins are still actively shopping Marc Savard but no takers due to contract issue w/NHL," ESPN.com's Jimmy Murphy wrote on his Twitter page.
Boston is dealing with some salary cap issues and his contract comes with a $4 million cap hit.
Capitals Looking To Move Fleischmann
The Capitals are in talks with two teams, the Oilers and Canucks, about moving forward Tomas Fleischmann, according to a league source.
Edmonton would part with Sheldon Souray, while Vancouver would give up Kevin Bieksa.
Underwood Won't Move To Ottawa With Fisher?
Senators center Mike Fisher married pop star Carrie Underwood earlier this month and the couple may already be facing difficulties.
Underwood has reportedly gone back on her promise to move to Canada with Fisher. She would prefer to live in Nashville.
Fisher's current contract with Ottawa runs through 2013.
Coyotes Deny Tikhonov Trade Rumors
Coyotes general manager Don Maloney is denying rumors that Viktor Tikhonov is demanding a trade.
Phoenix drafted Tikhonov with the 28th overall pick back in 2008.
Maloney fully expects Tikhonov to be with the team in training camp.
Devils Will Need To Deal If They Re-Sign Kovalchuk
The trade market is expected to pick up if the Devils are eventually able to re-sign Ilya Kovalchuk to a deal.
New Jersey will likely be over the salary cap by about $4 million if they are able to retain Kovalchuk, which means some quality talent will hit the market.
Names that could be shopped include: Bryce Salvador ($2.9 million), Dainius Zubrus ($3.4 million), Travis Zajac ($3.89 million) and Jamie Langenbrunner ($2.8 million).
Stars Didn't Try To Land Kaberle
The Stars were not one of the teams that tried to acquire Tomas Kaberle from the Maple Leafs prior to Sunday night's deadline.
However, Dallas general manager Joe Nieuwendyk did say that he has had trade talks with a lot of teams.
Savard 'Hurt' By Trade Rumors
Bruins center Marc Savard says he's "hurt" by trade rumors mentioning his name.
"They hurt me a little bit just because I went to Boston and I helped to build that team back up," Savard said.
"I've really tried to work hard with the young guys and being a core player. I was really focused on staying there for the rest of my career. To hear all this stuff this summer bothered me inside more than anything else. Right now I'm a Bruin and that's the way it is, but it's been tough."
Last week a source told ESPNBoston.com that Savard never waived his no-trade clause during the 2010 NHL Entry Draft despite reports to the contrary.
Kaberle Remains In Toronto
The clock struck midnight Monday and Tomas Kaberle remained a member of the Maple Leafs, according to an Associated Press report.
GM Brian Burke has been unable to find a trade partner since a no-trade window in the veteran defenceman?s contract opened at the June draft but has now closed.
The Leafs could still deal Kaberle, but would need the 32-year-old?s permission to do so.
One report Sunday evening suggested a team from the NHL?s Eastern Conference and another from the West was still in the hunt.
